Headland Park - Environment Monitoring and Fence Upgrade

Laing O'Rourke, on behalf of the Barangaroo Delivery Authority, is planning to capture baseline information about air quality, background noise and vibration levels.  This will ensure that when construction starts, the levels can be effectively measured and reported.

Subject to Council approval, there will be monitors at the locations indicated in the attached map.  The monitors are small in size and will have minimal visual impact, however you may notice them in the area.

As part of the upgrade of the Barangaroo perimeter fence, Laing O'Rourke currently has an application in with Council regarding a replacement fence along Merriman Street. This will be in similar chain wire to what currently exists and will help to ensure resident and pedestrian safety throughout the construction period.

Pending approval and weather permitting, this work is anticipated to take place over a number of days later in April.  Hours of work are 7am - 6pm Monday to Friday and 8am - 3pm Saturday. The equipment being used includes delivery trucks and hand tools.  Noise levels are predicted to remain within allowable levels.

In order to ensure safe pedestrian access during construction hours, there will be temporary changes to local traffic conditions including short-term occupation of some parking spaces on the Headland Park side of Merriman Street.  Traffic control measures will be in place throughout this time.
