The Barangaroo Delivery Authority holds an Environmental Protection Licence under the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997 (POEO Act). The licence conditions relate to pollution prevention and monitoring. Details of the Environmental Protection Licence:

Licence Number: 13336
Licencee: Barangaroo Delivery Authority
Licencee's Address: Level 21, 201 Kent Street, Sydney 2000

A copy of the Authority's licence is located on the EPA's website.

On 31 March 2011, the NSW Government passed the Protection of the Environment Legislation Amendment Act 2011 (NSW) which introduced several changes to the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997 (NSW) including a new requirement that all holders of Environment Protection Licences must make the monitoring data recorded under their Licence publicly available either by:

  • publishing the monitoring data in a prominent location on the licensee's website; or
  • if the licensee does not have a website, providing the pollution monitoring data at no charge to any person who requests it.

The Barangaroo Delivery Authority holds an Environmental Protection Licence which manages the environmental impact of the activities on site. As part of this licence, the Authority undertakes air and water monitoring.

This monitoring data is provided to the Environment Protection Authority each month. Reports containing the data collected each month since 1 April 2012 as well as a meaningful summary of each months data are available for Headland Park and Barangaroo South.

As of 6 February 2012, the changes to the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997 (NSW) also requires that relevant authorities are immediately notified when a pollution incident occurs where material harm to the environment is caused or threatened. The Public Pollution Incident Response Management Plans for Lend Lease (as developers for Barangaroo South) and Baulderstone (as construction contractors for Headland Park) can be found in the Publications section of this website. In the event of a relevant pollution incident, the Public Pollution Incident Response Management Plan for the respective sites will be implemented.
