Barangaroo Central will be a stimulating place
with civic, educational and recreation spaces and things to do.
It will be an area for the community with buildings and
open-air spaces for festivals, entertainment, arts, culture and
educational activities.
It will be the place for new outdoor festivals
and events, another opportunity to get close to the water of Sydney
Harbour and a destination, people will want to soak up night and
day.
What happens at Barangaroo Central will define
how people see Barangaroo in the future. It will encapsulate
the innovation, diversity, sustainability, and commerce of Sydney
and Australia.
It will be the transition along the waterfront
walk from the southern urban and commercial spaces to the natural
form of the Headland Park. Moreover, it will have its own
pedestrian links to connect its low-rise residential, commercial
and civic buildings back to the CBD.
A community consultation phase has been
underway throughout 2010 and will continue through part of
2011. Necessary design, development and planning approvals
will follow.
